I’ve always been mesmerized by the movements of dancers. The gracefulness, the power and the energy of it all amazes me. At the same time, I’m obsessed with nature, the outdoors, and remote places. When I find myself in such places it feels like they belong only to me. The idea of a “Dancers in Nature” project was born. After finding dancers willing to work with me, I set about putting them and their talents on film.
The first of this series was with Kendra, a model and dancer that I’ve been trying to work with for quite some time. We finally found a day and went on an adventure in the mountains above Folsom. Our first location got rained out so we had to trek back down the mountain to get below the storm. We waiting for a lull and found a spot to shoot. Kendra is so spunky and full of energy. She’s definitely a firecracker and my kind of people. I was shooting as fast as she was moving and it was a blast! The images are so quiet and powerful and I’m ecstatic with how they came out. There are few more shoots coming soon. Check back to see them all!
