Deep and bold red wines, playful couples, Napa has it all, and we LOVE weddings that allow us to connect with adventurous couples in wine country.

Chad and Shaina’s family is fortunate to be friends with the owners of a private estate perched in the middle of the Napa Valley, and it was important to them to show the surrounds as a part of their wedding.

When I first walked in the door the first thing I saw was Shaina’s big beautiful and expressive smile shining through a crack in the doorway.

I know a couple is the right fit for me as soon as I hear them tell stories – But asking the guys to tell stories about Chad got a bit out of control right away, and it made for some expressive and fun moments with the groomsmen.

Shaina’s family was a really important piece of the day, and seeing her and her dad walking down the aisle all smiles was more precious knowing the back story and just how important every person in attendance was to Chad and Shaina.

It’s important to me to work with couples who are expressive – Chad and Shaina had no lack of sharing their beautiful and warm smiles with each other throughout their ceremony.

We’ve all seen getaway cars, something old and “classic” – but Chad and Shaina went all out and Shaina was all smiles for Chad’s playful demeanor while romping away through the vineyard.

I like focusing on the details and letting other things fall into place in the background and this ring shot worked perfect to capture this moment between Chad and Shaina.

Knowing how important the property was to Chad and Shaina, I wanted a photo that showed the beauty of the location that didn’t need to scream “wedding” – stepping into the bocci ball court I found my image when I turned around and saw the house lit up and the dusk sky above.
