I’ve had a ton of features in publication and on different wedding sites this year and can’t wait to share more of these!
Most recently the website Thumbtack sent me a questionnaire to learn more about who I am and how I got into doing wedding photography.
It was fun sharing some insight with their readers and I thought I might share a bit of the Q&A here:
What do you love about your job?
I’m an extrovert, and I love being around people. I don’t trust people who don’t smile. Weddings are focused on lots of happy people who couldn’t have any better reason to smile.
I am also extremely motivated by being active, adventurous and rowdy. So, I’ve finally figured out how to focus on working with couples who are just like that. Voila! I’ve got a job that I love. It keeps me charged/motivated and stoked to do what I do.
What or who inspired you to start your own business?
Mike Colon inspired me. I saw him speak at my Alma Mater. (my room-mates and I went to his presentation to heckle him and make fun “the wedding photographer” – at our school wedding photography was looked down upon).
About half way through Mike’s presentation it clicked in my brain, everything he was saying, all the photos he’s showing were exactly what I want to do with my photography!
Thank you, Mike!
