I had never heard of Haig Point, Daufuskie Island, SC – but I’ve known Emily for years from my time spent writing in the golf industry. At some point her team flew me out to Texas to play golf and dress as ridiculously as possible to try and win a prize. Well, I for sure was the most terrible golfer on the trip – but darn if I didn’t win the prize for craziest outfit on the course. If that wasn’t enough, Emily and I hit it off when she expressed her affinity for Pinot Noir. I can’t say I shared the same passion for this varietal, but anyone who appreciates good wine wins a place in my book. I handed Emily my wedding business card and we started following each other on social media.
Eventually, I started to notice that Emily was traveling more than before, and some of it seemed to somehow overlap with some handsome guy – Shane. Never having met Shane, but knowing Emily, I was sure he was a good guy. When I finally had a chance to talk to him over the phone as we started planning their wedding photography – I knew he was the right guy!
I had a BLAST with Shane and Emily and would be stoked to share beers with Shane anytime (seriously man, let’s do this).
To top things off, they got the most INSANE sunset with clouds that looked like an explosion or fire was taking place.
Thanks for having me be a part of such an amazing weekend with you and your families!
