Nothing makes me as excited as booking an adventure session and this Mammoth Mountain adventure is no exception! When I first spoke to Bridgette and Gordon, they tossed around an adventure day in Yosemite or Lake Tahoe and we finally settled on Mammoth Lakes, which turned out to be the best idea!
These two live in San Diego and eloped at the courthouse before our “trash the dress” adventure. They’ll have a party back home in Wisconsin with friends and family later on and really just wanted this time to focus on each other and getting some great pictures! They’re both into extreme sports – snowboarding, moto, dirtbikes – you name it! The first thing they always do is get to the top!! If you haven’t caught on by now, they’re definitely my kind of couple.
Once we decided on Mammoth, the plan was to take the gondola to the top of the mountain and get all of the views. They also wanted to hike nearby and we ended up at Hole in the Wall and Sherwin Creek. The day finished with some sunset/star photos at Alabama Hills. (You’ll have to wait for the next blog post to see those photos!)
Overall, I had a rad time adventuring with these two and I think we got some great shots! Kudos to Bridgette for toughing it out in the snow and cold in her wedding dress. Not pictured here: the heavy jacket she wore for a few seconds between photos to warm up. She was a trooper!
Gotta get to the top! Love this guy on the right taking a photo with his phone. Probably not anything he’s seen while skiing before – wedding photos at the top of Mammoth Mountain!
Part 2 coming soon with some rad photos from Alabama Hills. It was so cool to shoot there and explore, can’t wait to share!
