Do you want to create an extraordinary day that goes above and beyond what you could organize yourself? Do you want to propose, but don’t have the time to plan it? If the answer to any of these questions is yes, it might be worth considering a proposal planning service.
For some couples who want a big fairytale love story (thank you pinterest), it’s no longer enough to get down on one knee with a diamond solitaire, going above and beyond with florals, food, wine, location, attire and much more could be the wave of today.
What is a proposal planning service?
A proposal planning service is a company that works with you to plan your proposal, both in the lead up to the day and the day itself. Whilst there are usually a range of options, the common theme is that they will ask you about your relationship, and come up with new ideas that you may not have considered for your proposal, themed on your partner’s likes, or meaningful moments in your lives together.
Then, the day of, you can choose to hire me to hide at a distance like a tourist with a camera, and I can document it all – or I can join you as if you hired me to just photograph the two of you for a fun day out, or I can ask you to model for me, and you can convince your significant other that it would be a fun way to get dressed up for a date – regardless of what works best for you, a planning service will help knock it out of the park!
What is involved?
Option 1: Proposal ideas
This is where the company comes up with ideas for you to take away and implement yourself, either now or in the future. This option usually involves filling out a questionnaire about your relationship, and then you can expect to receive proposal ideas in return, based on your answers. Some companies will also include step-by-step instructions for you, to allow you to arrange the event just as they would recommend.
Option 2: Ready-made proposals
If you want a special proposal, but don’t have the budget for a bespoke proposal or don’t want to arrange one yourself, you can book a ready-made proposal. This is where you choose from a range of packages, such as a romantic picnic, boat trip or a flashmob… A company then sets up this scenario for you, and you just have to get your partner there and pop the question.
According to a survey by HowHeAsked.com, 75% of women would like their proposal documented, so it’s worth considering if this is something that your partner would like – and I’d LOVE to be a part of it.
Option 3: Bespoke proposals
If you’re imagining the ultimate proposal, fit for a movie, then this could be the best option for you. As well as having every aspect of the day arranged for you, your planner will also attend the actual event, with the aim of ensuring that you don’t have to do anything but actually propose. They’ll work with trusted suppliers to ensure that everything goes according to plan and organize the clean up afterwards. This option isn’t for the faint hearted though; as you can imagine, a proposal like this doesn’t come cheap. You’ll need to contact a planner directly to get an exact quote, but to give you an idea, bespoke VIP proposal packages can start at around $20,000.
Is a proposal planning service right for you?
Ultimately, the only person that can answer this is you, as you know your budget and what your significant other would most appreciate. If you’d like insights/ideas and help finding the ultimate team, let me know, I’d LOVE to help and document this for you!
