Needless to say, Yosemite weddings are my favorite, and Charlee and Daniel’s Cathedral Beach nuptials are no different! I had a blast capturing this special moment between these two and those closest to them, and then exploring the park to get some great shots all the way until sunset.
Daniel and Charlee live in Missouri but wanted something a little different for their big day. They love hiking and the outdoors, so Yosemite was perfect. They even got engaged in the Smokey Mountains while hiking there.
Charlee had a long list of spots she wanted to hit, including Half Dome, the boardwalk to Yosemite Falls, El Capitan Meadow, Taft Point, and Glacier Point. I’d say we hit everything and got some rad shots along the way!
The perfect ceremony spot!
If you can’t find a good spot to take pictures in Yosemite, you’re doing something wrong. And a quick beach wedding with El Capitan in the background isn’t a bad way to enjoy one of the best views in the valley.
We started in the valley and ended up in the high country – I couldn’t ask for a better day as a photographer!
There’s nothing wrong with a little hike on your wedding day – the most common question I get is “where did they change???” – well, it turns out, most of my couples kick ass and hike in their wedding clothes.
Don’t visit Taft Point without spending at least half your time exploring – the legendary view is truly that – legendary. But there are mind boggling things to take in every time you move to a new spot up there. This is a view that’s easy to miss when on top, but it’s so dramatic in its own way that I can’t help but take a few minutes to play here with my couples!
